About Our Property
Nestled on two acres by the shores of Lake Helen, near DeLand, Florida, Cabin on the Lake presents a distinctive two-story, log cabin-style building. Our expansive grounds feature a lush grassy lawn, inviting gardens, charming statues, and a serene fountain, all available for guests to explore. The property also boasts a deck across the street on Lake Helen, perfect for enjoying the views or hosting small gatherings. Mature trees provide ample shade during warmer months, and a large hedge ensures privacy from the main road. For outdoor enjoyment, a screened porch equipped with picnic tables and a barbeque is available for guest use throughout their stay. Our Accommodations Cabin on the Lake offers four distinct rooms, each thoughtfully designed with its own unique name and theme. Many of the paintings adorning the rooms and common areas are original works by local artists, commissioned to enhance each room's specific ambiance.

Our Policies
To maintain the comfortable, "homey" atmosphere we aim to create, Cabin on the Lake kindly requests guests adhere to the following policies:
Cancellation Policy: Guests can cancel their reservation up to 8 days prior to their arrival date for a full refund. Cancellations made within 8 days of arrival will incur a charge equivalent to one night's stay.
Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house and on the porch due to the wooden construction of the building.
Pet Policy: Pets are welcome on the premises, provided they are under 30 pounds. There is a $75 fee per pet.
Children Policy: Children over 10 years old are welcome. There is an additional fee for children over 13 years old.
Quiet Hours: While there are no enforced quiet times, we kindly ask guests to be respectful of other visitors, particularly in the later evening hours. Guests are free to come and go as they please.
Our History & Vision
Cabin on the Lake, established in 2008, welcomed new management in early 2022. The current ownership relocated to the Lake Helen area from a larger Florida city, drawn by the desire for a quieter lifestyle. Upon discovering Cabin on the Lake, they "fell in love with the area" and the inn itself. Under new management, the property has undergone significant improvements. The house and many areas have been repainted and remodeled. All guest room televisions have been updated, and new mattresses have been added to two rooms, with plans for further upgrades. The vision for the property includes exciting future renovations, such as the addition of fire pits and an outdoor wine & cheese bar in the backyard, along with the development of a large koi pond, a walkthrough garden, a gazebo, fountains, and two additional guest rooms.
